UNSPEAKABLE TIDINGS

(note: Aarni mostly uses the Discordian calendar.)

15/ 05/ 3175 Dear unconventional conventionalist,

1) We hear there are still some of those fashionable Aarni t-shirts left in Epidemie Records' webstore, so go get one to cover up your unspeakable nakedness if you already haven't.

2) Currently Aarni has been busy with arranging the tune Celephaïs but took a welcome break from all the tedium by recording Azathoth, a rather chaotic little (yet inordinately long) jingle which partly revisits the past huge hit Reaching Azathoth, while developing into a charming cacophony in its own right. Especial care was applied to get all of the instruments out of tune and going microtonal on your ass. Surely Lovecraft would have approved...
We are also taking part in some other music projects best left unmentioned for the time being.

3) The CD cover/booklet artwork for Lovecraftian is well underway by a talented, young & haunted cultist. I think you will find the work of this modern-day Pickman stimulating enough to your jaded sensibilities. The album has been slated for an autumn 2010 era vulgaris release date just to frustrate you and give us enough time to polish everything off.

4) Once the spirit moves us, some key songs from Tohcoth will be remixed and peradventure re-recorded (especially the vocals) for maximum effect. The doom of these tracks will probably be online release in some kind of a nefarious "pay what thou wilt" scheme.

5) Yet another honest Bambi-eyed reminder: should you feel the urge, Omnimantia EP, the Double Demo and the Aarni/Umbra Nihil split album can still be purchased via this webshite. GIVE US YOUR MONEY! As a bonus we can even throw in one or several unreleased Aarni hit songs should you insist.

All the rumours are true,

28/ 04/ 3175 Dear patient,

1) There might still be some of those fashionable Aarni t-shirts left in Epidemie Records' webstore, so contact them if you haven't yet...however they claim to be on holiday and incommunicado until September 13th.

2) Here in Doominvalley we have been lazily working and playing on The Horror at Red Hook, a somewhat jazzy tune, which tries to remain true to the Lovecraft story by being shortish but not as mediocre. Now only the bass track and some chants need to be laid down for it before continuing to the next song. Maybe Nyarlathotep or some other tune. So far we have a couple of finished tracks plus several in various stages of completion.
The upcoming album Lovecraftian seems to be mostly instrumental with chants, recitative, vocalisations and just enough singing by Albert Frankenstein and other guest musicians. Plus lush soundscapes in the mostly grotesque and arabesque songs. As always, both musical serenity and ugliness rear their retarded faces.
Do you want to believe that?

3) Lest you remember: should you feel the need, Omnimantia EP, the Double Demo and the Aarni/Umbra Nihil split album can still be purchased here on the Aarni webshite.

By the way, here's another chance for you to get interactive: if you play some exotic and/or interesting instrument reasonably well (and can record your playing as well) plus want to appear as a guest musician on 'Lovecraftian', contact us by email and let's see if you can be the next False Idol. Bribery may work too. It would be nice to have more than the usual number of guest appearances this time around - just for the hell of it. So go ahead, make your mama proud.

22/ 03/ 3175 Greetings Frater/Soror/Neuter,

What in the name of an authentic pair of used Aleister Crowley socks?! Another update issue so soon? That's right, for:

1) Emuu, yet another new Aarni song, has just been put online at Reverbnation as a Fan Exclusive for streaming and downloading. The Finnish title of this "kalevala-folkish" instrumental means "the originator/genius/totem spirit of a species". Although featuring inter alia swan-song, the track alludes to the emuu of humans rather than to that of swans...because waterfowl are the traditional holy representation of the Golden Woman manifest in the Primeval Ocean. She is the creatrix of the universe, the gods, humans etc. in Fenno-Ugric mythology. So there.

It seems very likely that no further songs will be posted until the completion (sometime in 3176 AM?) of Aarni's third album Lovecraftian, so enjoy(?) the existing ones in the interim...

2) Shoggoth-sized thanks to Greg Kaminsky for featuring Aarni's songs in his excellent Occult Of Personality podcast episodes. Karmic brownie points will surely fall like manna from heaven for all concerned!

3) Omnimantia EP, the Double Demo and the Aarni/Umbra Nihil split album still available for ordering. You only need to give us all your money - a bargain at twice the price.

Now the unutterable dive into the Deep One-infested waters of making the third album shall continue.

93/23,
Master Warjomaa

07/ 03/ 3175 Hi honey!

1) I have put the new song Lemminkäinens Tempel online at Reverbnation, go check it out if you want a taste of how the next album will not sound. Rather the track represents a comic relief from making the third Aarni album...the tune in question is Aarni's first to feature Swedish language lyrics (except for one interjection in Finnish). This naturally fits the song's subject, which deals with the esoteric (in the widest sense of the word) theories and practices of the unwitting Finnish Discordian saint Ior Bock. Consider it a homage to the man and delusions in general. Musically we may be looking at some sort of "tr00 doom metal" or Black Sabbath-esque ditty, done in the best possible taste of course.

The song sounds better if you perform saunasolmu aka autofellatio while listening.

2) Currently Aarni concentrates on a more serious song, also likely to be put online once finished, namely a "kalevala" folk instrumental akin perhaps to Kivijumala and/or Kesäyö from the Bathos album. This tune like the one above and 49 Angeli Boni shall hopefully also see release on CD at some point.

After the lovely folky jig Aarni promises to sink back to the maddening tentacle-ridden mucus that is the process of making our third LP Lovecraftian.

3) Our pampered underground agents are on strike because of a recent incident involving forced travel via sewers and some exceptionally unwashed Aarni fans. Because of this prudery we still haven't received trustworthy updates on the band t-shirt matter, but we will let you know asap.

Near misses,
Master Warjomaa

13/ 02/ 3175 Greetings fellow cultists, here's an assload of news:

1) New song '49 Angeli Boni' online at Reverbnation. Not related to Aarni's third album-in-process Lovecraftian in any way; rather this new tune represents a momentary relief from all the hard, almost religious work we have lately engaged ourselves in with the afore-mentioned album.

The lyrics of this short song simply recite the (proto-Enochian) names of all the 49 "good angels" from Dr John Dee's 'De Heptarchia Mystica'. The angels in question are those of the seven classical planets and related days of the week plus their planetary hours, with each planet/day featuring a set of seven angels whose names are composed of seven letters. To underline all this emphasis on the number seven, the song's chord progression rotates around seven descending chords, while the organ plays an ascending pattern of seven notes with seven variations. And the breaks between the seven verses are made of - you guessed it - seven notes. The whole ditty is in 7/4 time with a tempo of 149 BPM and employs a whole step scale, which famously has...seven notes.

All of this makes for pretty repetitive music and we have intended the song more as a tool for getting in the mood when practising Heptarchic/Enochian magick than as your typical soundtrack for boozing...
As always a lyrics page for the song will appear here on the Aarni webshite in the near future.

2) Our label tells us the near-mythical Aarni T-shirts shall be made available during April. Thanks to all of you who have expressed an interest in this ineffable vestment! More news once the actual garments manifest.

3) I recently made four "elemental ads" plus a pentagram pseudo-logo for Aarni for no good reason. Maybe you'll find some use for these pics. High resolution versions of them can be found on the Gallery page while lo-res versions have been posted to sites such as MySpace, LastFM etc.

4) If you should so wish, you can now follow our studio-related and other bizarre practices also on Twitter.

Cheerio,
Maharishi Warjomaa

28/ 01/ 3175 Dear inmates,

Lucky 3175 A.M. to you all & for now just a brief note from the staff:

1) Green light for the Aarni t-shirt, thanks to your expressed interest in it! Our label tells us that the opaque garment will probably manifest in March-April; I shall let you know once I manage to channel more specific information. Wear it or drink it!

2) Meanwhile Aarni busies itself working on Lovecraftian and we recently completed what will possibly be the album's somewhat unnerving opening track, 'The Strange High House in the Mist'. Presently we move on to the serene 'Celephaïs', another (instrumental) song.

Currently the album looks like to be for the most part a sort of soundtrack to individual HPL stories, with emphasis on what we consider to be the pertinent ambience & atmosphere & so forth, while his poetry has inspired the album's more conventional(?) songs. Time shall tell how pnakotic this analysis is...

Wake loose,
Mawster Warjomaa

59/ 05/ 3174 1) The Aarni t-shirt may or may not happen, depending entirely on the demand. So, would you be interested in one or several of these potential garments? Our label tauntingly whispered to us that the shirt's total price would be 15 € (Europe) or 16 € (World) - including shipping and other shitting. Sizes available ought to include at least Small, Medium, Large and Troll. Colour: black with whitish/silvery imprint on the front (see image).

Tailored depending on whether you like to see yourself as a boy and/or a girl and manufactured from the purest magical Shitril mined by the retarded amorphous dwarves under the Mountains of Madness, Southern Antarctica. Tekeli-licious!

This magickal t-shirt will make you both sexless and deathless, plus naturally send strong musky signals to sentient beings around you...who will sense in you a great wisdom, but also a great sadness.

Yet the glorious ritual garment won't manifest in this alternate universe at all unless you express an interest in its existence to Aarni! Do it by email or MySpace/Reverbnation/Facebook/Last.Fm message or blog comment, because currently we don't have time to read our telepathetic messages.

Hopefully needless to say, this is in no way binding or a preorder or anything of the sort - the purpose now is merely to give us a rough idea about the potential demand for this all-terrain garment. Remember, you are definitely not too sexy for this shirt.

2) After the recent release of Omnimantia EP Aarni currently plays & works on the third album Lovecraftian and also occasionally on a side project, more of which maybe later.

Good Yule & Inneresting New Year 3175 A.M.,
Maharishi Warjomaa
28/ 05/ 3174 Omnimantia EP released! If you wish, get yours via the instructions on the 'Encounter' page. The price of the CDR has been set to 8 € inside the Europa Fort and 9 € for the rest of the planet. The prices include shipping by Air Mail.
Yes, we decided to call Omnimantia an EP as the total playing time clocks at 56 minutes, while decency dictates the minimum length for a LP as 60 minutes...
Obviously no booklet included with this one, but you can find the lyrics here at the Aarni website as usual.
Also a special feature: every copy of Omnimantia will feature unique handwritten liner doodles by M.Warjomaa, who also accepts your requests as to their content. In other words, every copy will be different from the next and worth a fortune in the future. Pimp my EP and laugh all the way to the bank!

The tracklist:
1. Rat King [this song has it all: 16th century Prague, rats, a golem, Dee and Kelley, pwning Christians and death metallish clamour]
2. Dimwa Depenga [a mellow tune sung in Ouranian-Barbaric, the ritual language mostly used by practioners of Chaos Magick. Expect to be "healed".]
3. This Is Not A Mask [a charming mishmash of parts. Like it, myself...]
4. Hypnagogia [here's a personality test. You can learn much about yourself from the reaction this true-to-the-title freestyle tune causes in you. Are YOU a mediocretin or a glorious starfaring futant?]
5. "Untitled" [Skepticism cover song of the fourth track on their 'Farmakon' album. Aarni's version features lyrics from the German online edition of Principia Discordia amongst musical scatomadness. The original version of this track appeared on 'Entering The Levitation' Skepticism tribute album.]
6. Verivaikerrus / Hurmehanki [Thergothon cover song, orig. 'Crying Blood / Crimson Snow'. Aarni's version has the lyrics translated into Finnish. The original version of this track will appear on the upcoming Thergothon tribute album by Solitude Productions.]
7. Lovecraft Knew [an original Aarni song from the forthcoming Lovecraftian cosmic horror theme album.]

Note: the last three tracks have been mastered exclusively for 'Omnimantia' and so sound more or less different than the versions appearing on the tribute releases mentioned above. Also note that Aarni wages war against the loudness war, meaning that you should crank up the volume on your player a bit, because we have applied only light compression at the mastering stage to preserve the natural sound and dynamics of the musical instruments used on the record. And just like in the good(?) old days, the overall volumes of the tracks may differ somewhat from each other. Aarni has painstakingly done all this just to let you know we care!

In related news, the release date of Umbra Nihil's arthritis-inducing second album The Borderland Rituals has been set to Nov 18th 2008. Visit the band's and/or Epidemie Records' website for further gossip.
63/ 04/ 3174 Esteemed special person,

1) Aarni has finally completed the mixing and mastering drudgery on the song 'Dimwa Depenga' and contrary to what has been said previously, I just decided to put it online as a 'Fan Exclusive' at ReverbNation for your listening pleasure. The English translation of the song's lyrics may appear here on the Aarni webshite at some point. Meanwhile, if you feel interested why not use your brains and consult an online Ouranian-Barbaric dictionary.

2) Next we plan to tweak the mixes of 'Hypnagogia' and 'Rat King' a bit before starting to record the new song 'This Is Not A Mask'. Only one or two songs after that and the forthcoming album 'Omnimantia' shall be complete. I recently found divers elder recordings of mine (pre-demo era) and will probably utilise some of their riff and melody ideas in finishing 'Omnimantia'. Gloomy doomy metal, mostly.

3) Speaking of elder things, the 23rd day of this month marks the 10th anniversary of Aarni! Blimey...embarrassingly little released material compared to the time elapsed. By the Power of Greyskull, I will try to rectify this scatological state of affairs! Even if it takes me another ten years.

4) One or two new promo pics can be seen here on the Aarni website and elsewhere, with possibly more to come if we don't have anything more interesting to do.

Yours by the Groke,
MW
32/ 04/ 3174 1) Aarni currently records 'Dimwa Depenga', a mellow acoustic song in the Ouranian-Barbaric tongue. The title translates to English as 'Beam Faceless'. The music style may distantly remind you of 'V.I.T.R.I.O.L.' and 'Oneiroskopos', here utilising both harmony and disharmony for a general horrorshow.

2) Since the last newsletter issue we have in all silence completed another new tune: a chaotic-organic instrumental called 'Hypnagogia' mainly featuring the electric guitar, grand piano plus divers sounds contributing to the kind of ambience implied in the title. In all likelihood this track won't be made available for online listening because of inevitable quality degradation due to its length. Well, the same probably goes for all of the new tracks.
Like I told you in the previous newsletter issue, these new songs will be on the next Aarni album - dubbed 'Omnimantia' by the way. Its release will take place once we have completed at least 60 minutes' worth of quality material. At this point we've got around 50 minutes, so we hope to be able to release Omnimantia by early 2009 e.v. at the latest. The music styles involved look like to feature death metal, funeral doom, jazz, prog and the usual innovative chaos - this time maybe with better taste. All in all angry and quirky stuff executed in various monstrous voices, just like your uncle!

3) Powerful protection against the Fashion Polizei: the Aarni t-shirt design has been completed and submitted...a black shirt with silvery print, featuring the Bathos-era band logo and the "frog-thing baiting a monk" wood engraving image displayed on the Information page of the Aarni website. Hopefully the rags will be available before too long. Don't call us, we'll call you.
55/ 03/ 3174 1) The new remotely deathmetallish Aarni song 'Rat King' (and its lyrics) has been finally made available online at our ReverbNation site! Free, streamable, downloadable and shit. In case of perplexion as to the subject of said song on your part, maybe a net search on its title will help. Or go ask an adult.
Features references to rodents, Enochian magick, beer bellies, Reneissance history, feces and other philosophical subjects.

'Rat King' and a few other new songs we currently work & play on represent a welcome distraction from making the previously ranted-about Lovecraftian album.

In fact Aarni might do a CDR release featuring this new material plus our tracks from the Skepticism, Thergothon and other more or less hard-to-get cover/tribute albums. The CDR price would naturally be shamefully low with a total playing time between 60-80 minutes. Each copy would also feature different original & unique liner remarks and divers rants by one of the band members. In other words no two copies would be alike. So this release would actually be a proper Aarni album. Pity about the apparent lack of a cover booklet, unless some of you should donate us funds for printing it. The upside: cheap price and the song lyrics & artwork can always be put online instead. Well, more about this rot when we happen to channel it...

2) Forgot what the second news item was. Maybe something vital, maybe something merely important. Repeat to yourself: "it was probably nothing".
23/ 03/ 3174 Currently we aka Yours Truly and genius Albert Frankenstein busy ourselves with making the Aarni t-shirt designs. The rags should be available in late Summer if Eris wills. More info on this once we channel it.

Aarni has run out of their Tohcoth copies so interested parties should go get them from Epidemie Records and its distributors instead. Incidentally I heard that both they and Firebox still have enough Bathos copies in stock to satisfy the huge global demand - and lots more. Patients who have recently requested copies of Tohcoth from us will get theirs, of course.

The vocals for 'Nemesis' have been recorded and they seem to have turned out rather nice. I also contributed some guitar soloing scatness to the forthcoming Umbra Nihil piece of sh...inola.

As we speak Aarni works on a death/t(h)rash metal song called 'Rat King' (go look this somewhat cryptozoological term up) as a sort of holiday from all the serious Lovecraftian stuff. Once finished, the song will be made available for free (duh!) downloading on our ReverbNation site.
54/ 02/ 3174 Many of you patients have been requesting some rags to cover up your loathsome nakedness and now we can help you: respectable Aarni t-shirts will probably be available in the more or less distant future. More info as soon as we get it...

I don't recall if I stated this before, but 'Tohcoth' too is interactive yet after another manner than 'Bathos'. The interactive portion of the record consists of magickal sigils in the booklet: the listener/operator is kindly asked to concentrate on each one in turn, charging and launching them in a state of gnosis as per the popular practice in Chaos Magic. To you that's ogling at the artsy red-coloured scribbles in the booklet page corners and wanking, bub.

Many wondrous and blissful things will happen to you and your planet if you choose to comply! Help yourself to help us help you. Yes, this is no joke. I somewhat painstakingly made those sigils in the Tohcoth booklet just for you to launch. I hope this is a good excuse for you to have sex or some other activity leading to the required 'moment of emptiness'.

Speaking of which, we've still got a few copies of 'Tohcoth' left and feel anxious to be rid of them. Contact us for pity's sake and get a nice gift for someone special. Your favourite lover and/or enemy perhaps? Remember too that Mother's Day draws close...

Aarni now has a spanking new ReverbNation page. We suggest you visit it as the site clearly beats the likes of My$pace in many wonderful ways.
Featured are numerous full-length songs from all Aarni releases, plus "fan exclusive" stuff such as unreleased tracks and other curiosities. In about a week two further early songs ('In The Mouth Of Oulu' and 'Kakkakepponen') will after remastering hopefully be added there, as in time will be such new tracks as don't fit the Lovecraftian concept of the forthcoming 3rd Aarni album, but are too good to be thrown away...I kid, Aarni never throws anything away - we are ecological in that way.

At the moment ReverbNation has a total of 11 Aarni songs, including the fan exclusives 'Ethanol Jam' and 'Logos (piano edit)'. "Becoming" a fan shouldn't be too painful as it is gratis. And while you're at it you might want to consider joining the Aarni mailing list feature there. It seems more fancy than these plain text Liber Aarnis. Maybe it will in time replace the old Bravenet newsletter service that we currently use...let's see if enough people wish to join it and unsubscribe from the Bravenet one.

Yea, naturally the recordings of the 3rd album are underway and likely will be for quite some time. The song 'Yule Horror' has been practically completed and now only awaits for the finishing guest star contributions. Additionally, the vocal recordings for 'Nemesis' should be completed later this week as well as some of my guitar solos for the forthcoming Umbra Nihil album.

Let's shoggoth!
MW
19/ 02/ 3174 Thanks to everyone who has ordered ’Tohcoth’ from us! Azathoth knows we need all the support we can get...still a few copies left so please get yours if you feel naked and thus eliminate the evil industry middlemen.

Also, the Aarni website has already some time ago been updated with English translations for ’Tohcoth’ lyrics as well as some other things to help those people whose skill in Enochian, Latin and/or Finnish are shaky. And two ’Tohcoth’ reviews (in Finnish) added with more to come.

If you feel you have something Aarni-related to say and want to do it publicly, join Aarni’s Last.fm group for some discussion. Also Doomintroll appears there from time to time making inappropriate remarks.

Someone seems to have posted a mutilated "music video" version of ’Thunder, The Perfect Mindfuck’ on YouTube. A nice gesture I guess, but the last image in it hasn’t anything to do with the band...rather it’s a picture of someone named ’Aarni’, which is a somewhat uncommon male first name in Finland. Of course many people have changed their names to Aarni after our huge success, but still, if you do an image search with our moniker not all of the results have much to do with the band. In any case, it seems like a fittingly bathetic ending to the "video".

Currently I busy myself with lead guitar recordings for Umbra Nihil’s forthcoming album and with new Aarni material.
Might as well come clean now and reveal that our third album looks like to be a purely Lovecraftian one. In other words a theme album paying homage to his genius in a hopefully tasteful way and without any undue goofing around. I have in mind a serious & "honest" musical release which promises to challenge my songwriting/playing skills to their limits. And not just mine but also of those more or less known international underground musicians partaking in it. Yes, this time around the number of guest stars will be higher than on previous Aarni stuff. We hope to make an album which also appeals to many fellow fans of Lovecraft’s work.

Featured will naturally be his cosmic horror themes as well as the more serene Dreamlands/fantasy tales. The tracks on that album will be musical impressions from various HPL stories/poems or key aspects thereof, not an ordered narrative in the sense of eg. King Diamond albums. I hope to be able to convey musically something of the atmosphere/ambience I get from reading Lovecraft and, err, strike a chord with the like-minded listener as well.
58/ 01/ 3174 Today we received our candylike copies of the splendid album Tohcoth! But it's not right that we should have all the copies, so place your order and become the proud owner of one (or several). Never mind what jealous people say! The price including shipping worldwide is 13 €, payment via PayPal or the usual traditional options.

Speaking of which, let's take a look at an objective and scientifically impartial (an oxymoron?) description of Tohcoth written by a respected international expert:

"Tohcoth is Aarni's second full-length album and contains a plethora of musical styles ranging from various subgenres of doom metal, 70's prog and folk metal to ambient and krautrock while remaining guitar-driven. A number of chord progressions and melodies have been chosen so as to cause beneficial effects in the listener according to the principles of sacred geometry.

The record's overall atmosphere is somewhat proggy, experimental, freaked-out and heavily influenced by esoterica. The themes on 'Tohcoth' consist of occultism and futuristic theories, brain-change and collective & personal liberation with added Lovecraftian, Alchemical, Discordian, Thelemic and Hermetic content. The album features the first ever(?) recording of 'The Battle Hymn of the Eristocracy', the Discordian anthem from the cult book 'Principia Discordia'.

Also featured is the Enochian (of course strictly using Dr. John Dee's original pronounciation instructions) language funeral doomy song 'All Along The Watchtowers', which may have interesting effects on the listener's surroundings and/or psyche. A couple of further tracks feature lovely poetry by Aleister Crowley and Eino Leino while the album itself has been dedicated to the late great Robert Anton Wilson, inter alia.

The interactive portion of the record consists of magickal sigils in the coolly illustrated CD booklet: the listener/operator is kindly asked to concentrate on each one in turn, charging and launching them in a state of gnosis as per the popular practice in Chaos Magic. To you that's ogling at the artsy red-coloured scribbles in the booklet page corners and wanking, bub. Many wondrous and blissful things will happen to you and your planet if you choose to comply!

Languages used on the recording this time around include English, Latin, Finnish and Enochian. As on Aarni's critically and popularily acclaimed debut album 'Bathos', the Finnish media personality Sampo Marjomaa has contributed guest vocals and VV from the band Umbra Nihil plays quite a bit of the drums. The tracks number 11 in total making the album just over 73 minutes long."

Do you believe that? We in Aarni do mostly. Mostly.

Well, only boring news left: we have sold out our copies of the Skepticism Tribute so go pester someone else. And playful work has already begun on the followup(s) to Tohcoth. This time it looks like a theme album - for once - is emerging.
28/ 01/ 3174 Illuminating new year 3174, patients!

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Aarni, in its current form at least. Aarni itself has of course always existed and will exist, because it has arrived here from outside existence itself. This feels hard to express verbally and to comprehend...try to remember. Anyway, I indeed initiated the current Aarni back in 1998 ev (as the less retarded among you possibly already surmised), but didn't bother with releasing any music until 2001 ev. Nostalgia ain't like it used to be...

Epidemie Records has recently sent an unicorn dolphin elder to us, which stated in no certain terms that the release date of Tohcoth has been set to February 2008 ev, that is if everything goes according to the secret evil master plan. Finally cometh the anticlimax to everyone's long wait! If you want, I guess you can send preorders to us and/or Epidemie Records. Preferably to Aarni, because that way everyone wins...as for the price of the nevergreen musical recording, we think 13 eurobucks should suffice - including postage and shit planetwide. After all we don't need very much money anymore as all the Aarni members have reached the grade of Knight Of The Outer Void in Antimasonry and we have taken a vow of mental and physical poverty. Cheap at twice the price and in any case music stores (if they still exist) will probably charge you lots more...

Count Saint-German says that Nostradamus said that in the near future a couple of full Tohcoth tracks will be posted by us on MySpace and/or Last.fm. We don't want to change the future so we probably will. Yea, Aarni appears "officially" now on Last.fm too. Those of you who can read and/or write can also join the Aarni discussion group there for some charming and balanced pleasantries. Doomintroll banters there every now and then, repressing nothing and oppressing everything.

It has likewise been written that curious factoids regarding Tohcoth have been revealed on the Works page here at the Aarni webshite. Nostradamus was King Kong but after another manner.

In our wickedness we have also remastered (in a final way) the Aarni/Umbra Nihil split CDR, so it is available from us too...improved new sound and washes cleaner too, while two out of three housewives report their cats prefer it. Comes of course with the original very professional CD covers and the rest of the TP. All that can be yours for an outrageous 6 eurobucks! You can help us be rid of them...they keep us awake at night by speaking of unclean things.

It has recently come to pass that I personally contributed a guitar solo to Umbra Nihil's (aka Urban Hill) Thergothon cover song. In the near future I shall probably offer better ones for UN's upcoming album. Meanwhile, we continue our work of inventing musical cures for nonexistent diseases and three future Aarni albums have already been planned...now we try to decide in what order we want to release them. OTO or IOT or...Disordo Templi Lemminkaenensis?

We will put out the next spam newsletter issue once Tohcoth actually gets released, just so you'll know. -M.·.W.·.
40/ 05/ 3173 Aarni thinks we have finally finished mixing Tohcoth and so the album has been sent to Tuomas McElä (of Jääportit fame) for mastering. Also A.Tolonen (the famous weresquirrel gnawing the kantele in Nest) currently busies himself applying crowning touches to the album booklet and covers. The long overdue release will most likely happen in January 2008 ev, unless the two gentlemen mentioned above somehow become unduly motivated and complete their work earlier.
Having stressed ourselves out needlessly over the last three years it has taken to make Tohcoth, we naturally cannot take a healthy break even now...so Aarni has just rereremastered the combined Demo 2001 & 2002 cdr. Now it has more clarity, presence, bottom end and blah blah.
You can also hear all the bonny bad mixwork, groovy glitches, amazing audio artifacts and climatic clipping much better. The third time saith sooth, so we swear we won't touch those timeless tracks ever again. Let the dead bury the dead...if you already have a version of the Double Demo, you probably have no need of this final remaster. But if you don't have it, get yours for 6 € (including postage and shit). Cheap at twice the price.
In other neurotic news, making of the next album has already begun. More "eccentric", HC, counterculture and UG again(?) perhaps.
I will also be contributing my gleeful guest vocals to a New Worlder music project in the very near future, as well as partaking in the ongoing recordings of the scatomadness that sensitives call Umbra Nihil.
Yea...if some of you should feel interested, we still have a number of the Skepticism Tribute 2CD copies left. Pay us 10 € for yours (including shipping planetwide) so we can go get some candy and shit.
There's also an Aarni discussion forum in the planning, where retards can share their problems and mediumistic messages & instructions from dead uncles.
21/ 05/ 3173 Currently Aarni mixes 'Tohcoth' to hopefully get it released before Yule. Also, in a highly uncharacteristic move, we managed to complete our Thergothon cover song for Solitude Productions' tribute album from zero to the final mix in just over a week. The end result can perhaps be described as some sort of folky dark ambient tune with, err, theatrical vocals.
The Skepticism tribute double album has been released! We completed our contribution song almost exactly two years ago and mildly put the Aarni sound may have evolved somewhat since then. But if you empty your mind of the usual mental chatter and visualise bright white light, you may almost be able to listen to the entire song. Almost.
If you really feel interested, you can buy a copy from us...cheap at 10 euros (including postage worldwide). We only have just under 10 copies in stock, so you'd better email us sooner than later.
After the release of 'Tohcoth', we will begin work on an as-of-yet classified project as well as planning the next Aarni release. Meanwhile MW will probably be contributing sundry guitar leads and shit for the forthcoming Umbra Nihil album.
02/ 04/ 3173 The title of the forthcoming album can be announced: 'Tohcoth'. The work has reached the point where we can state with a comparably high degree of probability that it will feature at least 11 tracks with a total duration of around 74 minutes. The skeleton (and some of the meat) of each track has been laid down, so Aarni moves to the next stage of completing the songs with further instruments, vocals and layers. After that the pain/pleasure of mixing and mastering will be upon us, hopefully followed by the actual album release. Oh, how the tears will flow then...
Also two new interviews and 5 banners featuring artwork from 'Tohcoth' added. FAQ and Works pages updated.
20/ 02/ 3173 As recently stated in Liber XXXV Aarni, recordings of the as-of-yet unnamed second full length album continue, with somewhere over 50 minutes of material completed thus far. The CD cover artwork has been finished, but will be put online later as the release date (Summer Of Love 3173?) draws nigh.
Aarni also contributes a track to the forthcoming Thergothon tribute album (release by Solitude Productions) out probably in early 3174.
19/ 01/ 3173 The webshite has been splendidly streamlined and the code made sexier by the talented former role model and eccentric impoverished trillionaire Maxim Mig. Thanks very many for your dedication to the cause! Also the actual textual content of some pages have been updated...crawl around this site for yourself and maybe find out.
Surprisingly much work has also been recently done on the second album, how nice! More details on it and other subjects in the next Liber Aarni issue, out soon.
11/ 01/ 3173 Have an interesting 3173 AM everyone! The year kicks off with Aarni making slow process with the second album...and with the death(?) of distinguished primate Robert Anton Wilson - without whom Aarni probably wouldn't exist in the shape it does today. Ta very much, Frater Mordecai fnord! Also, no more Finnish news items...their inclusion seemed increasingly redundant and English fast becomes the only tolerated language in the Brave New World Order, after all.
